About Dr. Forest
Christine D. Forest, M.D. Psychiatrist
From the beginning of her career, Dr. Forest has integrated and expanded therapeutic techniques based on current and proven theoretical models in medical and mental health research, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-focused theory, and eye motion desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. With medication management as one of her tools, she’s created and facilitated successful treatment plans for those with diagnosed mental illness as well as for those who are struggling under the weight of stress and trauma.
As a life-long student with boundless curiosity, Dr. Forest has studied various topics in the mental health and wellness field. She’s a certified practitioner in EMDR through Parnell Institute as well as a certified Reiki practitioner. She also offers animal-assisted therapy alongside her petite Goldendoodle River, whose sensitivity to human emotions soothes wounds and eases the journey.
Dr. Forest is a certified life coach and has founded a program called “Strategies for Winning” that uses guided transformation techniques to support those who are ready to make changes in their careers or relationships. Guided transformation starts with the concept that we possess everything we needed to make positive, long-lasting changes in our lives when we integrate our positive and negative qualities into powerful vehicles that can take us wherever we want to go.
Life Path
Christine Forest, MD, emigrated to the U.S. after completing her medical training in Romania. With limited conversational English and few resources, she decided to beat the odds and continue her education in her new home. She completed her postgraduate training in psychiatry at the University of Southern California and LAC + USC Medical Center in 2002, after which she opened a private psychiatric practice in Los Angeles. After joining the attending staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, she worked in the Consultation Liaison and Inpatient Unit of the Psychiatry Department, and she supervised psychiatric residents in training and teaching courses.
She’s also an accomplished artist, and her work has been featured in various art shows and exhibits. Her work is currently on display at the Los Angeles Art Association.
